IN LOVING MEMORY OF CAMERON HAMLIN (MAY 10, 1981 TO SEPTEMBER 24, 2006)



            Shannon M. Johnson was executed by lethal injection in Delaware on this date, April 20, 2012 for the murder of Cameron Hamlin on September 24, 2006. He was put to death only after six years of them murder as he needed a suicide assist. Let us hear from the victim’s family and we must also remember the victim, Cameron Hamlin and treasure his memories.

REMEMBERING CAMERON HAMLIN:

Cameron Donovan Hamlin, age 25, of Wilmington, Delaware suddenly slipped away Sunday, September 24, 2006 to begin his heavenly journey. The son of Vandrick R. Sr., and Cynthia L. Hamlin was born on May 10, 1981. He was a graduate of Howard High School of Technology in 1999. Cameron went on to further his education at Wesley College, Dover, Delaware and Delaware Technical Community College in Stanton, Delaware. He was employed by S & R Management, an entity of Brooks Amour as a coin teller for over six years. Cameron loved his music, playing football and his witty personality always kept his family and friends laughing. In the past few years he began pursuing his career for the love of music and recently at the Audio School of Music in Towson, Maryland. At an early age, Cameron was converted, baptized and joined the New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Leonard D. Clark. Cameron was predeceased in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert L. Haile, his maternal uncle, Donovan R. Haile and a cousin, Jermaine Kelson. His spirit shall always remain in the heart of his parents, Vandrick Sr. and Cynthia Haile-Hamlin, his loving brother and sister-in-law, Shannon and Vandrick R. Hamlin, Jr., his cherished sister, Jasmine M. Hamlin, the joy of his eye; his Godson and nephew, Vandrick R. Hamlin, III (Trey), Goddaughter, Zimani Barrett and his Godparents, Deborah Haile-Mowbray (Derick) in Hinesville, Georgia. He leaves to cherish his memories, his maternal grandmother, Mary M. Haile, paternal grandmother, Ernestine A. Jackson, and paternal grandfather, Jesse W. Hamlin, Jr. of Rockford, IL, lifetime family friends, Mr. And Mrs. Julius Parrish and their daughter, NaSheena Parrish; a special friends, Terrence Black; aunts and uncles, Mary A. Downes (Michael), Valerie E. Haile (Gary), Clarisa Thomas, James Allen, Derrick Hamlin (Harriet), Kurtis Hamlin, Alycia H. Benson (Jerome), Jessettia Church, Christine Blackledge, and a host of cousins, and other relatives and many friends. He will be truly missed.
