IN LOVING MEMORY OF FALYSSA VAN WINKLE (DECEMBER 14, 1979 TO OCTOBER 6, 1990)

Falyssa Van Winkle was murdered by James Powell on this date, October 6, 1990. James Powell was executed by lethal injection on October 1, 2002. She was also interred with a pearl necklace, a rainbow pin, and her favorite doll. The necklace and pin were given to Falyssa by her first boyfriend, who was the brother of her best friend. They had been dating for two weeks. The doll had been given to Falyssa by her grandmother when she was 4; it was a musical doll that played "It's a Small World," one of Falyssa's favorite songs.

I am extremely satisfied that Mr. Powell is now assuming room temperature," he added.

  1. It took 12 long years for the Victim's family to see this sentence served... In my quest to seek the Death Penalty for Saskia's MURDER, I know I will never live to see justice served. What a shame. Because I would really like to SMILE at William Gary Simpson as he is put to death, the same way HE SMILED AT SASKIA AS HE STABBED HER WITH THAT 15 INCH BLADE!

But, I will be waiting for his death just the same... I will be there upon his arrival, AFTER his death, with my Saskia - to bear witness once more to what he has done in this life. And this time, he will not escape the JUDGEMENT of his final sentence! :D
