REMEMBERING MICHAEL SWEARINGIN AND JENNA SCOTT (DIED: JANUARY 3, 2019)


            On this date, January 3, 2019, two people from Temple, Texas — Michael Swearingin, 32, and Jenna Scott, 28 — are missing and a car they were in was found abandoned in Austin, Texas. We will not forget both of them and we will remember them on their birthdays on March 2 and March 30 every year.

Two people from Temple, Texas — Michael Swearingin, 32, and Jenna Scott, 28 — are missing and a car they were in was found abandoned in Austin, Texas. No one has heard from them since very early Friday morning, and their friends and family are hoping anyone with information will come forward.

Michael and Jenna were last seen in a gray Hyundai Genesis, CBS Austin reported. The two had gone to Austin to hang out with friends, KCENTV reported.

But the car was found in Austin and the two were nowhere to be seen. The car was found on East 12th Street and Poquito Street, KXAN reported. The map above shows roughly where the car was found. Michael’s phone was found a block away, KCENTV noted.

The car was found by friends using tracking services. Jenna’s brother Talon said on Facebook that the car was seen with the doors unlocked and in a neighborhood they would not have gone to. Richie Davis, one of Michael’s friends, said on Facebook that the car had been parked with the doors unlocked for more than 24 hours before they found it. Davis said the phone stopped tracking around the corner from where the car was found.

Jenna and Michael are from Temple, Texas. They were last heard from around 3 a.m. on Friday, January 4 under suspicious circumstances. Michael was last seen at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, January 3 and Jenna was last seen that same day at 4:38 p.m., TDTNews reported.

  

Obituary for Michael Lee Swearingin

Michael Lee Swearingin, age 32, of Temple passed from this life on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Michael was born in Temple, Texas on the 2nd day of March 1986 to Deborah Annell Boedeker Daniel.

Growing up in Little River-Academy Michael was your all-American kid. He graduated from Academy High School in 2004 and then earned his Associate’s Degree from Temple College in 2007. Michael enjoyed playing disc golf with his friends and at one time he was in a band called A Bid Farewell. Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 11. He loved to worship his Lord and most definitely knew of the heavenly kingdom that awaited him. Michael was a joy to be around, a friend when you needed a hand and could be counted on to lift you up when things got rough. He brought a smile to so many and his legacy will be forever ingrained in the minds of those who knew him.

Michael was a born salesman. He was recognized as a top performer while working in home theater at Best Buy, both in Temple and Austin. For several years Michael has been employed with Spectrum Enterprise where he was enjoying a successful career.

Michael is preceded in death by his twin baby sister Kathryn Rose Swearingin and his step-father Donald Harrison.
 


He leaves behind his faithful canine companion Jax, whom he loved so dearly, his mother Deborah Harrison of Little River-Academy, sister Rhonda Daniel of Temple, grandparents Kenneth and Barbara Boedeker of Belton as well as his 2 aunts Pattie McKenzie and husband Gene of Austin and Terri Boedeker DVM and husband Darryl Schiller of Belton. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his cousin Scott McKenzie of Austin, his niece Aria and nephew Finley, his step-sister Tamara Carroll and husband Tommy of Tomball, and his step-brother Andrew Harrison of Baltimore, step-grandmother Allene Elliott of Giddings, as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Academy at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brent Boatwright, Dr. Wayne Wester, and Bro. Mark Ellison officiating. A burial will follow immediately after the service at Pendleton Cemetery. The family will be accepting visitors at the funeral home Friday night between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m.

Obituary for Jenna Kay Scott

Jenna Kay Scott, the daughter of Jonathan and Karen Scott was born on March 30, 1990 in the city of Estevan in Saskatchewan, Canada. She was a colorful little girl and so full of life. Jenna was a great student and a talented gymnast. Jenna won a gold medal at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in 2002 for tumbling and trampoline. Jenna was very close to her parents and her little brother, Talon. Jenna attended Lighthouse Christian Academy and graduated in 2007. She received her RN and BSN at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Jenna was currently in the process of starting her internship to receive her Master’s Degree in Counseling. She was very focused on health and fitness, finding yoga and meditation to be very calming and comforting. She even convinced her mother to get on board, and both would find healthy recipes to make together. Living a full life at such a young age made her someone many went to for advice, and she would always drop everything to help anyone. Jenna was the type of friend who would listen and always be there for her friends and family. She loved being a mother to Emerie, who was her world, and also loved spending time with her family and friends. “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted- Matthew 5:4”

On Thursday, January 3, 2019, Jenna Kay Scott, an amazing mother, cherished daughter, unique sister, and beloved friend had her beautiful life taken entirely too soon. Her family invites you to join them in celebrating her life at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Vista Community Church in Temple with Pastor Austin Fischer and Pastor Elwyn Johnston officiating. The family asks that you wear anything colorful to represent the light Jenna was to all who loved her.

She is survived by her loving parents, Jonathan and Karen Scott, her daughter, Emerie Scott, and her brother, Talon Scott, all of Temple. Other survivors are: grandmother Marion Johnson from Fessenden, North Dakota and grandparents John and Marilyn Scott from Frobisher, Saskatchewan, Canada. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her daughter Emerie Scott in honor of her mother. Checks or money orders made payable to Emerie Scott's College Fund, sent to First United Bank, C/O Kristina Mayes, 7286 West Adams Ave. Temple, Tx 76502.
