Falyssa was a sixth-grade student at FK White Middle School. She loved French class and she was on the school honor roll. Falyssa performed in class plays and had many friends.

Falyssa was laid to rest wearing a Gunne Sax dress with lace and sequin trim, lacy socks, and a purple headband. Purple was her favorite color. Falyssa, her mother, and stepfather had been in the process of repainting her bedroom purple and lavender when she died.

She was also interred with a pearl necklace, a rainbow pin, and her favorite doll. The necklace and pin were given to Falyssa by her first boyfriend, who was the brother of her best friend. They had been dating for two weeks. The doll had been given to Falyssa by her grandmother when she was 4; it was a musical doll that played "It's a Small World," one of Falyssa's favorite songs.

I am extremely satisfied that Mr. Powell is now assuming room temperature," he added.
