IN MEMORY OF NICK MORAIDA (DIED: AUGUST 1, 1996)

            On this date, August 1, 1996, Nick Moraida was murdered by Richard Cartwright in Corpus Christi, Texas. Cartwright was executed by lethal injection in Texas on May 19, 2005. We, the VFFDP, are satisfied that the family of the victim had forgiven Cartwright and all they want is justice and protection. They are another great example that VFFDP are not hateful or revengeful people.

QUOTE: Moraida's sister, Angela Moraida of Corpus Christi, said last week she already had forgiven Cartwright. She said his death will bring relief to the family. "At least we know he's never going to hurt anybody else," she said by telephone after the execution. She and her family did not attend.
