RURAL ALEXANDER, IL - Diann L. Hoagland, 54, of rural Alexander died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at her residence.

 She was born March 1, 1956 in Jackson, MI; the daughter of Thomas Eugene and Frances Marie Burch Smith.  She married Harold "Butch" Hoagland Jr. on September 10, 1977 in Virden, IL and he survives.

 She is also survived by her parents of Virden; four children, Dewaine E. Hoagland (wife, April) of Auburn, Danny Hoagland (girlfriend, Megan Sagrecy) of Springfield, KY, Mary D. Krispinsky (husband, Dr. Luke) of Suffolk, VA, and Thomas E. Hoagland (wife, Lori) of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Sabrina S. Hoagland, Emma Diann Hoagland, Samantha Diann Hoagland, Noah Michael Hoagland, Amelia Grace Krispinsky, Levi Thomas Hoagland, and Ethan Lee Hoagland; a sister, Debbie Quintana (husband, Joe) of Denver, CO; two brothers, Brad Smith (wife, Julie) of Athens and Richard Smith of McAlester, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

 Mrs. Hoagland attended Divernon schools and graduated from Virden High School and Lincoln Land Community College.  She was employed briefly as a computer technician for Memorial Medical Center in Springfield prior to devoting several years at home raising their children.  She rejoined the workforce for the past 20+ years at Farm Business Farm Management in Springfield.  She was a devoted member of Berea Christian Church where she served as the youth pastor.  Diann attended several Women of Faith conferences.  For many years, she was a dedicated volunteer band parent with the A-C Central Marching Band and numerous other children's activities.  Diann also organized several fundraising events to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  In recent years, she spent her spare time enjoying her grandchildren.

 Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday on the grounds of Berea Christian Church, south of Prentice with burial at Berea Cemetery, adjacent to the church.  The family will meet friends from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Ashland.  Memorial gifts are suggested to Berea Christian Church, A-C Central Band Trip Fund, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Friends are invited to sign the online
