On this date, April 26, 2002, a spree killer, Alton Coleman was executed by lethal injection in Ohio. Let us not forget one of his victims, Marlene Walters. We are grateful justice was served.
QUOTE: Harry
Walters saw neither the death nor the funeral of his wife of 26 years. But, he
will witness the death of her killer to confirm the receipt of justice and
closure he says should have been his a decade ago. ''On
April 5, 1958, Marlene and I were married, exchanging the vows 'until death do
us part.' We were parted by murder,'' Walters says. ''Execution is the solution. The Bible tells me so.''
"The family asks not for your sympathy or even your compassion,'' said Scott Lillard, Mr. Walters' son-in-law.” We
ask for justice.''
