We, the
members of Unit 1012: The VFFDP, will remember 24-year-old Michaela Dunn, a
Sydney woman who was murdered during the 2019 Sydney CBD stabbings on 13
August 2019. As our group consists of families and friends of murdered victims,
we will always remember her on her birthday and sent our condolences to her
family members.

'My heart is full of sadness': Friends
and family farewell Michaela Dunn

Michaela "Mikki" Dunn has been remembered as a "joyous" and "loving" woman by hundreds of mourners who gathered at the 24-year-old's funeral on Monday.
At Rookwood cemetery, Dunn's friends and family – decked out in colour as requested – came together to say goodbye to the woman who was killed in a rampage in Sydney's CBD on August 13.
The deadly rampage was allegedly carried out by Mert Ney, 20, who has been charged with murder.

At the funeral, Ms Dunn’s sister Emily
said: "My heart is full of sadness today and it
still doesn’t feel quite real".
“Nobody quite understands you like a sister does...to think that life goes on without you is pretty incomprehensible,” she said.
“You were curious, you were loving, you were hilarious, you were generous, you were caring, you were pretty temperamental, but you were joyous.
Mourners have said farewell to Michaela Dunn, who was killed in an alleged stabbing rampage two weeks ago.
“Mikki, you’re one of the kindest, most fierce, adventurous souls I know. The world is a much duller place without you.”
Emily then said goodbye to her sister “in the way I know best” and read the poem When Great Trees Fall, written by Maya Angelou.

Ms Dunn's mother kissed her daughter's white coffin under a greying sky, while mourners carried sunflowers and umbrellas.
Celebrant Susan Garvan said: "Mikki has been taken from us far too soon, and so cruelly. Today is not a day to question why".
In a post earlier this week, Emily took to social media to thank everyone for the "outpouring of support" they had received.
She invited people to attend the funeral of someone who was "truly special, and things will never be the same without her kindness, eye rolls and mad love of cats."
