IN LOVING MEMORY OF STACEY LEE STITES (JANUARY 19, 1977 TO APRIL 23, 1996)

Stacey Lee Stites

Let us not forget Stacey Lee Stites who was murdered on this date, April 23, 1996 in Texas. We, the members of Unit 1012: The VFFDP, do not believe that her killer, Rodney Reed was innocent. Here is the reason:

There's no proof there was any relationship between Reed and Stites. Stacey's mother and sister testified that Stacey didn't even know Rodney Reed. If there's no "affair," there's no motive for Fennell to kill her. At his trial, Reed presented testimony of witnesses who were not found to be credible. He's presented affidavits from other witnesses, which were also not found to be credible.

Reed used the "relationship" defense with a prior rape charge and he was acquitted. When initially interviewed by Bastrop Police (who did not work with Fennell as falsely stated by Reed's supporters), he denied knowing Stacey, except what he'd seen on the news.

I think that there were actually a few prints that didn't have enough points for comparison found in the truck. Even if there were no prints, that's not exculpatory, since the jury knew that and considered it in their verdict.

Matt Beebe will explain more in this article:

Those who think Rodney Reed is innocent. Try this: Step 1. Commute him to LWOP, Step 2. Since he is 'innocent', free him also from LWOP, Step 3. Ask him to live with you in your home and see how long you will love him.

Do not be surprise if he is another Montez Spradley or Anthony Porter or Timothy Hennis. All were innocence fraud cases.
