UNIT 1012 REMEMBERS 8-YEAR-OLD HUANG NA (26 SEPTEMBER 1996 TO 10 OCTOBER 2004)

The World Day Against the Death Penalty is held every year on October 10. However, We, the comrades of Unit 1012: The VFFDP will remember 8 year old Huang Na who died on this date, 10 October 2004. We rather remember murdered children then listen to abolitionists who show sympathy for murderers. The Killer, Took Leng How was executed by hanging in Singapore on 3 November 2006.

We will make her one of The 82 murdered children of Unit 1012, where we will not forget her.

Huang Na, a China-born student living in Singapore who was found to have been murdered by a man named Took Leng How.

Let us remember how she lived on this earth:

“People from the wholesale centre and Jin Tai Primary School described Huang Na as an intelligent, independent, sociable and active child.”

“Street-smart, independent and precocious, Huang Na, was the darling of the Pasir Panjang Wholesale where she lived. She was also remarkably mature for her age. She was only 8 years old and at the age of seven, she took a flight by herself from Changi Airport to spend a holiday with her family in Fujian, China. Then she came back, alone.”

We also would like to ask those abolitionists what if Huang Na was your daughter? Would you want Took to pay with his life?

We, the comrades of Unit 1012, who have lost family members to murder will tell you that the answer is yes, Took deserve to be put to death for his crime. We are also grateful to the Singapore Government that he was executed two years and a month after committing the homicide. What a swift and sure execution!

We recommend that killers should be executed by the gallows and not by the painless death of lethal injection.

To say it has to be painless is to lose sight of what it is...which punishment…in its very meaning is. The word punishment comes from the same root as pain. It is and is essential conception…painful. If it is not painful, it is not punishment. When killers intentionally over depraved indifference inflict intense pain and suffering on their victims. In my view, they should die a quick but painful death. Not torture, not drawn out but quick and painful.
