Let us not forget 3-year-old Sheila Evans every year on September
10 and January 18. She was murdered by Ronald Philips. Justice was served when he was
executed on July 26, 2017. We made her one of The 82 murdered children of Unit 1012 and Janusz Korczak’s 190+ children where we will not
forget her.

 She was three years old, who was raped and murdered by her mother's boyfriend. Sheila's mother, Fae Evans (#131399046), died in 2008 of cancer. Fae was serving 13-30 years for child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter because she did nothing to keep her boyfriend, Ronald Phillips, from hurting Sheila. Phillips has a scheduled execution date of September 18, 2014. Update: Ronald Phillips wasn't executed in September 2014 as scheduled. I think Ohio has had the same problem as other states with what execution drugs to use and their availablity. Here is the current info on his execution. Name: Ronald R. Vigil held in
Youngstown for victim of man put to death by state

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Her name was
Sheila Evans.
She was 3-years-old when she was raped and murdered
by her mother's boyfriend, Ronald Phillips. Wednesday,
the State of Ohio put Phillips to death for that crime.
Saturday, Sheila's family celebrated her life.
Renee Mundell, Sheila's half sister, said the
family went through every emotion last week leading up to Phillips' execution.
"One minute is sad because of what
happened, the other minute it is up because we can honor her after waiting for
twenty four years," Mundell
said.
Evans' family said they had waited for justice for
more than 20 years since Phillips admitted to Sheila's rape and murder. The
memorial Saturday involved a balloon launch at the cemetery in Lake Milton.
People stopped by Sheila's teddy bear headstone to pay respects before the
launch.
"We were glad the governor and the
supreme court let it go," Mundell
said. "Wednesday was closure for us and justice
for her."
