Education
She graduated from Irving High School class
of 2015. Gonzalez was majoring in Kinesiology and was set
to graduate from North
Lake College this year.

Death
On May 3, 2017, Gonzalez was killed in
a murder suicide shooting
by Adrian
Victor Torres inside the Performance Hall building at North Lake College in
Irving, Texas.
Just before 12:00 p.m. local time,
Adrian Victor Torres armed with a handgun shot
Gonzalez three times.
Torres had approached Janeera in front
of an art exhibit and yelled at her saying, "You know who I am and you
know why I am here."
The school was put on lockdown for more than an
hour while police searched the campus for the active shooter.
Torres' body was later located at a
different building, inside a locker room shower stall in Building “F”. He died
from a self inflicted gunshot
wound.
GoFundMe
A GoFundMe was started by her
brother, Johnny Gonzalez, to help with funeral funds. The campaign has raised
over $2,400 of the $10,000 goal.
Investigation
It is unclear if Gonzalez and Torres had
a connection with each other with ongoing investigation by detectives. Her
family told local media that Torres had been stalking Gonzalez.
They claim the two never dated and were
not even friends.
