REAGAN TOKES (MARCH 13, 1995 TO FEBRUARY 9, 2017)

Let us not forget Reagan Tokes every year on March 13 and February 9. We will not forget the way you live on this earth and we endorse your foundation and fundraising.

A service for Reagan (pictured) has been planned at Maumee United Methodist Tuesday and Wednesday. Her family now hopes to create a scholarship in her name

The Ohio State University psychology major whom police believe was murdered by a registered sex offender was a straight A student excited about May graduation.

Reagan Tokes, 21, of Columbus, Ohio, vanished after leaving work at a local bar on February 8. Her frantic family members and friends circulated missing posts on social media. Then, a coroner confirmed that a body found shot to death in a nearby park is Tokes.

That left a shaken community and campus wondering: Who killed the vivacious young woman? Police now have an answer: They’ve arrested a registered sex offender named Brian Lee Golsby, and they say they believe the attack was random.

“Of all the people in this world we find ourselves asking why her?” wrote one friend on a GoFundMe site established to help Tokes’ family.

The statement shares how Reagan Tokes will be remembered.

Words cannot express how saddened and heartbroken we are to have lost 21-year-old Reagan Delaney Tokes; daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, goddaughter, cousin and friend to so many. We will always remember Reagan as a vibrant, loving, young woman who embraced life. She made a positive impact on people, was enthusiastic about everything and brought laughter and joy to all who knew her. She had a genuine compassion for all people and anyone who knew her loved her. She truly enjoyed being with her many friends and cherished the time she spent with her family.

Reagan grew up in Maumee, OH and played 4-year varsity tennis and varsity lacrosse through-out high school. Her ambition and passion led her to attending The Ohio State University where she majored in psychology in hope to help others. Reagan loved attending OSU. November 28th she wrote on Facebook “Extremely lucky and thankful to call THE Ohio State University home.” She was 3 months shy of graduating and fulfilling her dream.

We cannot begin to express the hurt and confusion we feel and ask that you respect our family’s privacy. We are not at liberty to discuss any details since this is an on-going investigation.

We are extremely grateful for the all the time and effort given by the Grove City Police Department and any other law enforcement involved in apprehending the person responsible for Reagan’s death. Our family requests prayers for not only Reagan but for all victims that have endured heartbreak and pain as we have. Our family continues to ask for privacy during this difficult time.

God has a new angel in heaven who will forever be watching over us. We love and miss you, Reagan!

Friends and family set up a GoFundMe in Reagan's name to raise money to create a scholarship in her honor.
