Pro Death Penalty Quote of the Week [29 April 2012 to 5 May 2012] (Victims' Families whom justice was served in the U.S.A (2005 to 2010)

Quotes: "It's been so long we had to deal with all of this," said Becky Washa, the victim's sister, of Sioux Falls, S.D. "Now it's finally over. I don't have to think about him any more."

"Closure has finally come to the family," John Washa said. "Why he did what he did to my daughter Holly I guess I'll never understand."

There have been only five executions since the death penalty was reinstated 30 years ago. The most recent was Cal Brown, who was put to death for the torture-murder of Holly Washa.

Holly's father, John Washa, said he still very much favors the death penalty.

"You do the crime, you pay for it," he said. "And if it's as bad as it was with my daughter, Holly, they need the death penalty."

Washa said even with the lengthy appeals process, it was worth it to watch Brown die.
"It took a long time, but I'm glad it's over with," he said. "We don't have to hear about him anymore."

Author: Family members of Holly Carol Washa who was murdered by Cal Coburn Brown on 24 April 1991. He was executed by the State of Washington on 10 September 2010.
